遵循廣受好評的第一季Netflix原始系列Dreamworks Voltron傳奇防守者，執行製片人Joaquim Dos Santos，聯合執行製片人Lauren Montgomery和作家Tim Hedrick激動了粉絲，他確認了第二季在7月21日星期四的聖地亞哥漫畫小組中的第二個賽季到來。
在驚喜的來賓史蒂文·楊（Steven Yeun）加入的加入中，史蒂芬·楊（Steven Yeun）聲音是紅獅（Red Lion）的飛行員基思（Keith of the Red Lion），小組的參與者受到了幕後故事的待遇，電影製片人在第1季中最喜歡的場景（包括大比奇透露）和偷窺有望成為史詩般的第二季。在第一季結局懸崖之後的那一刻，觀眾將跟隨沃爾特朗隊在哈格（Haggar）散佈在宇宙中時蠕蟲孔的中斷後。Voltron Legendary Defender第2季將於2016年底僅在Netflix上首映。
DreamWorks還宣布了第1季的配樂，其中包含來自系列的11首曲目，現在可以在iTunes上使用。
